Pakistanis abduct 27 fishermen in Kutch

RAJKOT, Dec 27: Pakistani maritime security personnel abducted 27 Indian fishermen when they were fishing in the Arabian Sea off Jakhau Port in Kutch district yesterday.Reports reaching here today said 29 kharvas (fishermen) aboard four vessels from Porbandar had ventured in the sea for fishing. The Pakistani personnel trapped them and forcefully drove them towards their side. However, two of them managed to escape and informed the Indian authorities about the abduction soon after they swam ashore at Porbander. Recently, 149 Pakistani fishermen held captive by the Indian side, were released and a warm send-off was accorded to them from Okha of Kutch district.
