Advani, Vajpayee once "escaped" to the movies after election rout

PRESS TRUST OF INDIA
MUMBAI, Dec 27: Union Home Minister L K Advani took a moment off from his address to a party gathering today to provide a peep into his acquaintance with Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee. In the process, the Minister showed a side at variance with his generally sedate self.

In an absorbing narrative that evoked peals of laughter from his audience, he recalled how he, with Vajpayee, went to a cinema hall following the defeat of a party nominee in the Delhi municipal elections in 1958.

``Incidentally, the title of the movie was Phir Subah Hogi, Advani told those gathered to felicitate party leader Jayawantiben Mehta, who completed 60 years today.

The glorious days for the Bharatiya Janata Party have come through selfless service and sacrifice put in by party workers like Mehta, Advani said.
