JALANDHAR, DEC 27: Bengal boys and girls teams today made it to the finals of the Junior National and Inter-State Table Tennis championship here today.In the final Bengal girls will clash with Assam while their boys will meet Ajmer-based Petroleum Sports Control Board (PSCB) Academy in the final.The first semi-final in the girls section between Assam and Maharastra (B) went to the full distance. It was left to Assam's Mrigiakhee Bordnoi to pull off the decisive victory in the fifth match of the tie against Deepali Zaveri to clinch a spot in final for her team. Bordnoi won the decider 21-11, 13-21, 21-13.
Earlier in the quarter-final tie the Assam girls had defeated Punjab 3-1. Bengal beat Tamil Nadu 3-1 in the other quarter-final while Maharashtra beat Karnataka 3-1. Maharastra (A) became the fourth semi-finalists by defeating PSCB Academy 3.1
In the second semi-final in the girls' event, Bengal defeated Maharastra (A) 3-0 to set up the title-clash with Assam.
