GURGAON, December 27: In a daring late night robbery, a Jaipur-bound Haryana Roadways bus (HR-37-7040) was looted by six armed robbers near Wazirpur on the Pataudi Road yesterday. The bus which was supposed to take the National Highway Route had to be diverted to the Pataudi Road due to a jam on the highway.At about one in the morning when the bus was somewhere near Wazirpur, it stopped because of a flat. The police believes that the robbers had deliberately set up a trap by placing nails on the track.
Six masked youngsters appeared on the scene and got hold the driver and conductor who were checking the tyres. The robbers tied them with a rope.
Swiftly, they robbed the passengers on gunpoint. Even the passersby could not smell as to what was going on as two of the robbers who pretended to be changing tyres of the bus assured the passersby that all was well. The police said that it took around 40 minutes for the robbers to complete their operation. According to a rough estimate, a total of about Rs 50,000 to 52,000 was looted from the passengers including ornaments, watches and valuables.
