BHUBANESWAR, DEC 28: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today sought an explanation from its MP, Tathagat Satpathy, for his reported statement venting air against the party president and Union Steel and Mines Minister, Naveen Patnaik.Satpathy, along with two other MPs - Dr Prasanna Patsani and Prabhat Samantray -, had met the Prime Minister on Saturday. Party secretary general and spokesman, Prasanna Acharaya, MP, told newsmen here that the party did not not believe that the MPs lodged complaint against Patnaik before the Prime Minister. However, in view of media reports, a clarification had been sought from Satpathy, he added.
``There was no reason why BJD should take up its internal matter with the Prime Minister. Vajpayee is the leader of BJP and not the BJD,'' Acharaya remarked.
