In other semi-final, Western Railway staged a dramatic recovery after being down by two goals in the first session to stroke out Punjab and Sind Bank Academy 6-5 via tie-breaker. The final is slated for 2 pm tomorrow.

BSF, winner of the Nehru and Surjit tournaments, outplayed ASC in all departments of the game and led 5-1 at half time.

BSF surged ahead in the 15th minute through Harbhajan Singh and then in a space of two minutes M.Lakra scored two goals in 24th and 26th minutes to take the tally to 3-0. ASC reduced the margin in the 27th minute when P.Horo converted a penalty corner (1-3) to a goal. Shinu Herenz slammed two goals in the 31st and 33rd minutes to give BSF a commanding 5-1 lead.

Three minutes into the second session, Shinu Herenz completed his hat-trick as he shot home his third and team's sixth goal.

PSB Academy took the lead in the fifth minute through Ranjit Singh and 18 minutes later Prabhdeep Singh converted a stroke to make it 2-0 for the Academy.

Two minutes into the second half, Mukhtiar Singh reduced the margin for the Railways when he scored of a penalty corner. Five minutes before the final whistle Deepak Gupta drew parity for the Railways.

In the tie-breaker, Chander Pal, Mukhtiar Singh, Deepak Gupta and Shanta Kumar converted their strokes for the Railways, while Allan Barla failed. For PSB Academy, Ajit Pal Singh, Sandeep Singh and Prabhdeep Singh were on target while G.Kumar and Manmeet Singh failed.

JK Tyre team triumphs
Akbar Ebrahim and Gurunath Meyappan in the Formula Maruti category won the first position in the J K Tyre International Race in the Kings Lager Motor races and mini-Grand Prix, organised in Colombo recently. Akbar Ebrahim also finshed first n his class in the Formula Ford category. The team representing India consisted of Gurunath Meyappan, S P Raman, Akbar Ebrahim, Parthiv Suresh, Gautam Maini, Harish Samtani, Vikram Murthy, P D Satyanarayana, Uday Eswaran and Radha Selvaraj.
