Civic chief moots prabhat pheris to turn Ahmednagar clean

AHMEDNAGAR, Dec 29: Municipal president Lata Lodha is all set to revive the practice of morning marches by the city elders and civic officials giving on the spot reprieve to the citizens. The morning marches would give an impetus to resolve the civic problems.

The assurance came from the civic chief during her thanksgiving speech after she was felicitated by the residents of Premdan. Nagar Urban Bank director Brijlal Sarda presented the civic chief with flowers. Meanwhile, the residents of Siddharthnagar have embarked on a self-help drive to clean the gutters in their vicinity as the Ahmednagar Municipal Council turning a Nelson's eye towards their repeated pleas for cleansing the area. The civic chief called for citizens' co-operation for solving civic problems, while she disclosed that water supply, roads and cleanliness top her agenda. The council has expedited planning on a few major schemes which she said would accelerate the development of the city. She would ensure a balanced development for all the civic wards without any favoritism or bias, she vowed.

Besides revival of morning marches, endeavours would be to guarantee a concerted association between the civic officials and municipal council members, she said.
