Body found
The Palsana police on Tuesday evening found the dead body of an unidentified Muslim person from the outskirts of Palsana. The district police said the person, aged about 45, was murdered as evident by the wound marks on his body. While the person's throat was slit, there was a wound mark on the back of his hand and also on the upper side, the police said, adding the body had been sent for autopsy on Wednesday. The deceased was wearing a white shirt, brown trousers and a green sweater.

While the police are yet to ascertain the cause of the murder, a case under section 302 and 201 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered. Investigations are on, the police said.

Suicide
A woman set herself and her one-and-a-half-year-old daughter on fire on Wednesday morning and succumbed before medical help could be provided, according to a complaint registered in the Limbayat police station. Complainant Ramnayan Maurya, a resident of Radhaswamy nagar on Dindoli Road, told the Limbayat police that his wife Lilavati Maurya took their daughter Pooja into a room, bolted it from inside and set herself and her daughter on fire. Both died before they could be rushed to the hospital. Though the exact reason behind the extreme step could not be ascertained, a case has been registered.

Car theft
A Blue Maruti 800 car (GJ 5 FF 8428) was reported stolen from the Kubernagar area of Katargam on Tuesday night. Vehicle owner Sanjay Ahir in a complaint with the Katargam police stated that he had parked the vehicle opposite his house at Plot no 2, Kubernagar. He found it missing on Wednesday morning. A case has been registered.
