Manav Sthali boys beat Bhilai team

NEW DELHI, December 31: Hosts Manav Sthali School, R Block, New Rajinder Nagar began their campaign in senior boys category in the second National CBSE table tennis tournament here today with a 3-0 win over Senior Secondary School, Bhilai with a 3-0 margin.

In the senior girls category, Dayawati Modi Public School from Modinagar defeated Faculty High School, Amingaon 3-2 in a closely-fought encounter.

Bhatnagar International School (Vasant Kunj) downed Samvidha Vidya Peeth from Vijayawada 3-2 in junior girls section while St Thomas School from Thiruananthapuram defeated DPS Bokaro 3-2 in the junior boys category. The tournament was declared open in the morning by D K Mittal, Director General, Sports Authority of India.

Senior boys: Manav Sthali (R Block) bt Senior Secondary School (Bhilai) 3-0, Bhatnagar International School (Vasant Kunj) bt New Public School (Chandigarh) 3-2. Senior girls: PSBB Junior College (Chennai) bt Jaspal Kaur Public School (Delhi) 3-2, Dayawati Modi Public School (Modinagar) bt Faculty High School (Amingaon) 3-2. Junior boys: PSBB Junior College (Chennai) bt MGM Higher Secondary School (B S City) 3-1, St Thomas School (Thiruananthapuram) bt DPS Bokaro Steel City 3-2. Junior girls: Bhatnagar International School (Vasant Kunj) bt Samvidha Vidya Peeth (Vijayawada) 3-2, Manav Mangal School bt S S Chldren's Academy (Moradabad) 3-1.

AITA Delhi Open
The AITA Delhi Open women's tennis tournament will be held at DLTA courts from January 4 to 9. The matches on the first day will be playted from 10 am. A total of 33 entries have been received so far, according to the organisers.
