MPP withdraws support to Manipur Govt
The Nipamacha Singh Government in Manipur suffered a jolt when its key constituent Manipur People's Party (MPP) withdrew support, alleging "humiliation and betrayal", but there was little threat to its majority in the Assembly.
Mahajan refuses to condemn VHP
Information and Broadcasting Minister Pramod Mahajan refused to condemn the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) for its reported involvement in attacks on Christian minorities saying there was no proof against the VHP in this regard.
