Joshna claims Under-13 title, Rhea crashes out

CHENNAI, JAN 1: Tamil Nadu's Joshna Chinnappa who is the under-14 national champion, bagged the under-13 title in the recently concluded Scottish Squash Championship.

According to the message recioved, Joshna came back strongly after losing a set to Danfille Dawson, the top seed 4-9, 9-4, 9-2, 9-2 in the final.

Joshna's entry to final was equally devastating. In the semi-finals, she got past Hong Kong's Su Tsz Lui easily in three sets 9-5, 9-0, 9-2 while in quarters, she defeated Chantal Moros of Spain 9-1, 9-1, 9-0.

Mumbai's Rhea Bhandare who participated in the under-15 event and Alisha Mashruwala and Siddarth Suchde, who also competed in the under-13 age group bowed out in the first round itself.

This was the second international title for Joshna. Last year she had won the Hong Kong Junior Open title.
