MUMBAI, JAN 1: An agent of Ashok Sheregar's `golden schemes', Prakash Narvekar, was kidnapped and believed to be murdered, said the police.Narvekar, along with Sheregar, had been arrested by the Economic Offences Wing of the crime branch and later released on bail. He was asked to present himself every day in the crime branch.
On December 12, as per routine, Narvekar told his wife Piyali that he was going to the crime branch.
Narvekar was not seen since then. On December 16, Piyali got a call from her husband asking her to get Rs five lakh to a spot suggested by him on December 17. Piyali lodged a complaint with Shivaji Park station.
On December 30, Narvekar's body was found at Bhivandi. An autopsy showed strangulation as the cause of death.
