MUMBAI, JAN 1: Four unidentified persons waylaid amusement park Esselworld's cashier who was on his way to the bank and looted Rs 18.2 lakh at Borivli this afternoon.According to police sources, the money could be proceedings from the New Year bash at Gorai. The suspects were probably aware of the large turnout and planned the loot, sources added.
Police stated cashier Dinesh Anand (43) and his colleague Chandra Kinnar were in a rickshaw when they were intercepted by a blue Maruti van near Gorai bus depot at around 1 pm. Four men got down from the vehicle and pointed revolvers before snatching the cash and escaping from the scene of the crime.
The police have registered a case of armed dacoity. No arrests have been made so far.
