Maruti faces heavy booking cancellations after the recent price reduction
The recent price cuts announced by Maruti Udyog on Wednesday is threatening to lead to large scale cancellations of bookings made for the 800 cc model. Dealers have been trying to cope with angry customers who are insisting that they be given the benefits of the new price.

UTI hikes US-64 prices again
The Unit Trust of India (UTI) has once again hiked the sale and repurchase prices of its flagship US-64-scheme for the month of February. The hike is 10 paise over the January prices and the sale and repurchase prices for February would be Rs 15.00 and Rs 14.70 respectively.

MFs record 50% sales growth
Even though mobilisation through new issues has fallen steeply, mutual funds have recorded a 50% growth in sales in the second quarter -- July-September -- of the year 1998-99 with mobilisation aggregating Rs 6,093 crore during the period.
