Plans for developing Shirdi shrine on anvil

TIRUPATI, Jan 7: The Maharashtra Government was considering drawing a master plan to develop the shrine of Shirdi Sai Baba on the lines of the famous shrine of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala here.

A team of Government officials from Maharashtra, who had arrived here on a three-day visit on Tuesday, held discussions with the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) authorities in this connection, a senior official of the team, Chandrakant Dalvi said today.

As part of the plan, approach and bypass roads from the Ahmednagar-Manmad would be laid at a cost of Rs 25 crore, he said.

The officials, also discussed various plans for the benefit of the pilgrims implemented at Tirumala, he said.
