Jewellery shop robbed
Hitender Rao
GURGAON, January 7: A jeweller's shop situated in the heart of city was looted this evening by four armed robbers who came posing as customers. Parveen and Maninder, the two brothers were sitting at the sales counter of the shop when the four entered the shop. According to Parveen, ``They came inside and asked us to show they gold jewellery. When my elder brother, Maninder, told them to specify what they want, they took out their revolvers. Within moments the robbers picked up all the gold and silver ornaments from the showcase and drawers, put them into a black leather bag and moved out.''Before leaving the robbers snapped the telephone connection. The incident which took place at around 7 pm in the busy and congested Roshanpura locality was the second such in the past week. As the robbers left the shop, Maninder followed them while Parveen raised an alarm. On of their neighbours, Devinder Singh who too ran after them said that they had parked a brand new Maruti car (DL-3CL 4098) near Aggarwal Dharmshala, which is a few meters from the spot of crime. The robbers tried to intimidate Maninder and Devinder by taking aim at them and eyewitnesses said that they actually fired a couple of shots in the air.
