IA may make Rs 45 cr profit
Indian Airlines (IA) is likely to achieve its targetted profit of Rs 45 crore for 1998-99, despite losing heavily due to cancellations and delays caused by bad weather conditions over Delhi during the peak traffic season in December.

Car wars hot up as Fiat cuts Uno prices
Fiat-owned Ind Auto, the manufacturers of the Uno, have joined the price war in the small car segment by slashing the prices of its Uno model. The cut has been especially pronounced for the diesel versions, and is worth over Rs 1 lakh.

CBEC for audit team on Modvat
The Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) has suggested setting up special audit teams to check misuse of Modvat (Modified Value-Added Tax) credit by dealers.
