Complementary religions
Beginning from the last century, India has taken a new interest in its old religious culture. Many leaders of Hindu cultural Renaissance like Ananda Coomara swamy wrote and spoke of Buddha with warmth and understanding. This attitude is even more true of non-academic and popular circles.

Why pensioners get short-changed
Most of us who aren't exactly shrewd investors, are happy to see our provident fund contributions mount, confident that when we retire we'll get this little nest-egg which will help see us through old age. Perish the thought.

Dalal Street's greetings
Though it's true that this week's 330-point sustained increase in the Bombay Stock Exchange's (BSE) Sensex is largely to do with several south-east Asian markets rebounding, it does signal a turnaround in investor sentiment, albeit a bit weak as yet.
