Behl too hot for Jaiswal

 
January 14: Maharashtra's Akhil Behl marched into the semi-final of the National squash championships at the Calcutta Racket Club with a 9-7, 9-1, 9-4 win over Awish Jaiswal, but Rajdip Brar of Services made his exit.

In another quarter-final, Manish Chotrani of Maharashtra beat Navneet Narain of Services 9-7, 6-9, 10-8, 9-4. In the women's event, Maharashtra's Mekhla Subedar beat Bengal's Dolly Dabriwal 9-1, 9-0, 9-0.

Results:

Men (quarter-finals): Akhil Behl bt Awish Jaiswal 9-7, 9-1, 9-4; GS Rathore bt Rajdip Brar 2-9, 9-5, 9-5, 8-10, 9-6; Manish Chotrani bt N Narain 9-7, 6-9, 10-8, 9-4.

Women: Mekhala Subedar bt D Dabriwal 9-1, 9-0, 9-0; P Abraham bt Rhea Bhandare 9-6, 9-5, 6-9, 4-9, 10-8; Joshna Chinappa bt V Reddy 9-6, 6-9, 9-3, 9-7.
