Health dept to conduct survey 0The UT Health Department is conducting a house-to-house survey to identify the cases of blindness, leprosy, sexually transmitted diseases in rural and labour colonies of UT. The survey, which will continue for five days in over 20 villages and the same number of colonies, will be conducted in collaboration with District Blindness Control Society. The training programme regarding this was inaugurated by Dr J.L. Chaudhary, Joint Director, Health Services, UT cum medical superintendent."Amar Khalsa" for Punjabi World The telefilm `Amar Khalsa', based on the novel `Bijai Singh' by Bhai Vir Singh, which was staged as a play by the Sunehri Virsa, will be shown on Punjabi World channel. Directed by Hardeep Singh, the SGPC member from Mohali, the story revolves around the persecution of Sikhs by Mir Mannu and the brave fight put up by the Sikhs. "This is our contribution for the 300th year of Khalsa," Hardeep, who did the main role in it, said. Songs recorded Theatre personality Shyam Juneja's directorial venture `Honeymoon' got off to a start with the recording of the songs this morning. Starring Arti Puri and Amit Sharma, this Punjabi film is scripted by Madan Gupta Spatu.
