CHANDIGARH, JAN 19: The issue of land acquisition by the Administration, near Hallomajra, for the CRPF was raised at the meeting of the Administrator's Advisory Council, here today.Members including local MP Satya Pal Jain, former MP Pawan Bansal and CPI secretary Inderjit Singh Grewal while raising the issue said that hundreds of people had constructed their houses in the Deep Complex near Hallomajra where the Administration was planning to acquire land for the CRPF.
They asked the Administration to review its acquisition plan and denotify the acquisition proceedings since many houses would have to be demolished.
While the Administration was suggested to take a lenient view on Deep Complex residents, the Adviser said the Administration was open to suggestions. He informed that the Administration had already decided that all persons who have constructed houses on or after the Section 4 notification would be provided with alternative sites.
The Administration has been proposing to acquire this land near Hallomajra for the CRPF headquarters, where about 400 houses would have to be demolished. Residents of the area have been opposing the acquisition plan.
