DSO officials seize kerosene

VADODARA, Jan 19: Taking cognisance of a number of complaints pertaining to irregularities in kerosene distribution, the district supply officials have started random inspections of fair price (FP) shops. More than 3,000 litres of kerosene has already been seized and cases against about a dozen FP shopowners and hawkers have been registered.According to official information, officials on Monday night inspected a fair price shop in Chhani village and found that the owner Ravji Naik was charging Rs 40 for 10 litres of kerosene instead of the prescribed rate of Rs 27.
