AIIMS faculty hold rally
In a rally that ended at the PM's house, faculty members of AIIMS and the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education (PGI), Chandigarh, protested against the Finance Ministry for not implementing the modified Bakshi Committee recommendations in the new pay package. The faculty has also threatened to to go on mass casual leave on January 25 and an indefinite strike if their demands were not met.Microfilms of rare manuscripts
Researchers can now refer to 404 more rare Indian manuscripts on microfilm at the Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts. These manuscripts -- including the Vedas, Puranas, apart from works on grammar, lexicography, astronomy, mathematics, astrology and medicine -- are housed in the Munich Library Museum in Germany.
