Tom Cruise may not star in Kapur's Steinbeck
The Hollywood trade Bible, Variety, has reported that Shekhar Kapur will be directing the film adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phanton of the Opera. The smash worldwide hit will star Antonio Banderas and Catherine Zeta-Jones, the twosome of The Mask of Zorro. But that's not before Kapur starts shooting Steinbeck's Point of View, for Warner Bros and Bel Air Entertainment.

Mrinal Sen deplores lack of good cinema
Too many film festivals are being organised all over the world, but this does not mean good films are being made, according to well-known film maker Mrinal Sen. Sen said if at least 30% of good films could be shown during a festival, it could be called a successful one.
