Anand loses to Kasparov in blitz
Garry Kasparov gained a psychological edge over India's Viswanathan Anand by not only beating him but also claiming the Blitz tournament on the rest day of the 61st Hoogovens International Grandmasters Tournament on Monday.

Vandals damage 32 trophies
The total loss in Monday's ransacking by vandals of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) headquarters at the Brabourne Stadium could be around Rs 15 lakhs. The rampaging mob caused extensive damage to as many as 32 trophies.

India suffer defeat against New Zealand
India allowed themselves to suffer and lost control long enough for New Zealand to wreck havoc with the bat. New Zealand, who scored 121 from the final 10 overs, destroyed the Indian attack as they posted the highest one day score of 300 at Jade Stadium.
