Courts' boycott called off

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
CHANDIGARH, JAN 20: The over 10-day-long boycott of Justice G.C. Garg's court was called off yesterday by the Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association here. According to Bar Association president G.C. Dhuriwala, the decision followed assurances to the Bar Association by High Court's Justice R.S. Mongia.

Justice Mongia, he added, assured the restoration of all amenities to the Sector 27 house allegedly purchased by the Judge and rented out to a lawyer, besides ensuring that the tenant would not be harassed. He added that the removal of Justice Garg's restorer had also been assured.

The Association, in its meeting on January 8, had decided to boycott the court following an alleged attempt to forcibly evict advocate J.S. Yadav and his advocate son, Parduman Yadav from the house.
