CHANDIGARH, Jan 20: The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum has directed General Administrator, DSJ Finance, New Delhi and IIT Corporate Services Ltd, Bombay to pay Rs 550 as costs to the complainant for their failure to issue him the unit certificates of two Dhanlaxmi units for which he had invested Rs 5,100 twice. In his complaint before the Forum, complainant D.K. Gupta stated that he had purchased one unit at the cost of Rs 5,100 in February 1995, under a scheme called Dhanlaxmi 51 units.
In September 1995 the complainant invested another amount of Rs 5,100 for another unit. He stated that despite the payment of requisite amounts and despite several reminders to the opposite parties, no unit certificates were issued to him.
The complainant, therefore, requested the Forum to direct them either to refund Rs 5,100 or to issue unit certificates.
Holding that there has been gross deficiency in services on part of the said parties, the Forum comprising president R.P. Bajaj and member Kamlesh Gupta directed the opposite parties to issue unit certificates at the earliest along with giving him resultant benefits as and when they fell due.
