IAF sky diving show on R-day
The Akash Ganga team of para troopers of the Indian Air Force (IAF) will perform a sky diving show at the Polo Ground after the Republic Day parade which will begin in the afternoon. The show is the second of its kind, the first presented in April last year at the Akota stadium. Unlike earlier, this time the IAF would use MI-8 helicopter to drop the team of about a 12 dare devils from a height of 6,000 feet, an official release said here on Sunday.

Free eye camp
A free cataract operation camp was organised jointly by the Sindhu Sevak Sangh and Helpage India on Sunday at the Arts and Commerce College, Savli. Spectacles were given at concessional rates to needy patients.

Training
The Baroda Junior Chamber is holding a one-day self-development training programme `Family Learning Programme' based on Stephen R Covey's best seller `The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People.' The programme will be held at the C C Mehta Auditorium, M S University at 9 am on January 31. While interested will have to pay Rs 100 as fees, the programme will be followed by lunch. Those interested should contact project manager Sarita Sinha on phone number 774548 or Chamber vice-president Heeru Hotchandani on 411275.

Felicitation
Age Care Vadodara, an umbrella organisation of various senior citizens associations, has organised a programme on Republic Day eve at 4 pm at the Country Club, near Golden Chowkdi. While BJP legislator Yogesh Patel will be the chief guest, more than 100 senior citizens of the city will be felicitated at the function.

Best society
Surat: The Surat Obstetric and Gynaecological Society was adjudged the best society for 1997-98 by the Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India.
