Central Zone earlier defeated North Zone by five wickets, East Zone by nine wickets and West Zone by five wickets.

Put in by Central, South Zone made 223 losing eight wickets in their stipulated 50 overs.

Though the central zone started well with Yadav and Khoda putting up 80 runs for the opening partnership, the team was faced with some trouble before skipper Pandey displyed some brilliant stroke play to add 26 vaulable runs. Pandey was ably assisted by saurav shukla who reamined not out with 22.

Calcutta: Helped by captain Vinod Kambli's unbeaten century, West Zoneregistered their first victory of this season's Deodhar Trophy, defeating East Zone by eight wickets. Kambli found his touch at last with an unbeaten 109 off 120 balls. Kambli's knock included 12 boundaries and one six off Rohan Gavaskar.
