The conntest was opened by R.C. Prasad, IGP, Punjab. The topic for the debate was "Conserve Oil or Save Time?" and for the painting contest was "Conserve Oil". The running trophy for the debate competition was won for the third consecutive year by the team from MCM DAV College Sector 36, Chandigarh.
