Assault victim dies
The police on Sunday, updated a case registered on Friday for causing grievous injury to murder after one of the victim of an attack died in a city hospital. One Kedarnath was pronounced dead on Sunday after he and one Ganpath Behra, were attacked and assaulted with iron rods by two persons Raju and Munna. According to the Pandesara police, the two accused attacked the victims on Friday night at Ganpat's house in Jagannathnagar slum in Pandesara. Both the accused, residents of Shivajinagar slum have gone missing after the attack. A case of murder under section 302 of the IPC has been registered against them replacing sections 325 and 114 under which they were booked earlier.

Dowry case
The Katargam police have begun interrogating three persons of a family after a woman approached the police with a complaint of physical and mental torture and demands of dowry. Jyoti Chittewar approached the Katargam police on Saturday night stating that she was being harassed by her husband Vinod, father-in-law Sudhakar and brother-in-law Jana Chittewar. She said they had demanded dowry from her and threatened to slit her throat if she did not get the money. The Katargam police arrested the three from their residence at Shivajinagar slum in the afternoon. A case under sections 498(a) and 506 as well as sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Act has been registered.

Dead
22 year old Sangeeta Asik Patel, a resident of Vijayanagar Society of Udhna, died late on Saturday in the Maskati hospital where she was admitted on February 3, according to the police. Sangeeta was found in an unconscious state by her father and rushed her to the hospital, where she died during treatment. The police have registered a case under CrPC 174 and are investigating further. Sangeetaben had been married for about a year and a half and has a seven-month-old baby boy.
