Dravid wins award

NEW DELHI: Rahul Dravid was voted the Thomson Most Valuable Player and presented with a Thomson 46'' projection television at a function held at Taj Palace last night.

Based on viewer response, Thomson Consumer Electronics presented the award to Dravid for his consistent batting performances during India's recent tour of New Zealand. The country's No 3 batsman had scores of 0, 28 (Wellington), 190, 103 (Hamilton) and 123 not out (Tampo) in the three Test matches and 38 (Napier), 68 (Wellington), 51 (Auckland) and 29 (Christchurch) in the one-dayers.

Thomson also presented awards to Anil Kumble and J Srinath for claiming 200 wickets.

Train rescheduled

MUMBAI: The Mumbai-Dimapur special train which will take players participating in the National Games at Manipur will leave Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus at 2300 hours tommorrow. The train was earlier scheduled to start from Dadar at the same time, according to a statement from the Maharashtra Olypmic Association and theState Sports Department.
