Men below 40 years had to run 8 km, while those between the age of 40-50 years had to cover a distance of 7 km. For men above 50 years, ladies and children above 12 years the distance was 3 km, while for children below 12 years and ladies running while carrying toddlers had to run 100 meters. The run was flagged-off by the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Command, Lt Gen H.B. Kala, who also gave away prizes to the winners.

SGFI election
The election of the office bearers of the School Games Federation of India (SGFI) will be held tomorrow at Kullu (Himachal Pradesh). According to information received here, CL Negi of Himachal Pradesh, PS Chabbra of Punjab are two likely candidates for the post of president and secretary general, respectively. TR Chauhan of Haryana is vying for the post of treasurer.
