Curb on devotees coming to Borivli national park

UNITED NEWS OF INDIA  
MUMBAI, FEB 10: The Sanjay Gandhi National Park in Borivli will not allow devotees to carry inflammable items like match boxes, light arms and cigarettes into the park during the Mahashivratri festival on Sunday.

Every year two to three lakh people from all over the world visit the park Mahashivratri, the renowned Buddhist caves at Kanheri, situated in the heart of the park. Music systems, tape recorders, radios and music instruments have been banned inside the park. Deputy Conservator of Forests A R Bharti said that the park authorities will not allow non-biodegradabe items like polythene bags or thermocol inside the park.

Private vehicles like vans, cars, two-wheelers will also not be allowed, he added.
