The Akal Takht is likely to witness noisy scenes tomorrow when Bhai Ranjit Singh chairs a meeting of Sikh clergy even as Giani Puran Singh, who was today appointed Acting Jathedar of the Akal Takht, announced postponement of the meeting. Bhai Ranjit Singh, who rejected the decision of the executive committee of the SGPC, suspending him from his position, said the decision was ``partisan, illegal and unfortunate'' and had no legal and religious sanctity.
HC dismisses Tohra plea
The Punjab and Haryana High Court today dismissed the petition of SGPC president G. S. Tohra challenging the direction of the Sikh Gurudwara Judicial Commission (SGJC).
