Keep RSS at bay, says Lok Shakti

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
CHANDIGARH, Feb 10: The national general secretary of Lok Shakti, Vijay Dubey, today said the RSS, VHP and Bajrang Dal were not working in the country's interest and the BJP must keep them at bay to avoid a crisis.

Talking to mediapersons here, he said the recent attacks on Christians may be a deep-rooted conspiracy at the behest of the Congress to tarnish BJP's image at the Centre as these incidents had mostly occurred in Congress-ruled states, except Gujarat. "The resignation of the Orissa chief minister is nothing more than a political drama. The Centre should sack the Orissa government for the recent killings of Christians," he said.

Dubey apprehended that the Badal-Tohra feud may air extremist tendencies in Punjab with the two leaders mixing religion with the fight for political supremacy.

On the recent onion crisis, Dubey said Lok Shakti leader Ramkrishan Hegde had informed the Prime Minister in August to postpone the export of onion produce, but the government failed to take the required steps.

The city president of Lok Shakti, Ravi Prakash Kansal, meanwhile, said the party workers would hold a dharna to protest against the indifference of the Chandigarh Police towards the growing crime rate in the area. "The police here are just busy challaning motorists," he added.

Kansal said the UT officials were taking full advantage of the BJP infighting and were doing whatever they wanted to in an autocratic manner. The Lok Shakti unit demanded that the UT Administrator should sit in the Secretariat for two days in a week to listen to grievances of commoners.
