Wife, paramour booked for murder

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
S A S Nagar, Feb 10: In connivance with her paramour, a Malout resident reportedly got her daughter admitted to a school here after the girl came to know of her mother's illicit relationship and later, the mother and paramour allegedly killed the woman's husband.

Police have registered a case against Karnail Singh, Krishna Devi and her brother, Rajinder Kumar, under Sections 465, 467, 471, 420 and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code.

According to police sources, the accused, Karnail Singh, was a tenant in the house of Gurdeep Singh in Malout. The tenant had an illicit relation with Gurdeep Singh's wife, Krishna Devi. When Krishna Devi's daughter, Manpreet Kaur, began to suspect their relationship, they are said to have brought the girl here and got her admitted to a local school.

The police said Karnail Singh posed as Krishna's husband for the purpose of getting the girl admitted. On returning to Malout, the two killed the woman's husband. Krishna Devi's brother, Rajinder Kumar, was also involved in the conspiracy.
