Additional Superintendent of police Himanshu Mishra said here today that a police party following a tip off led by ASI Ranjit Singh organised a Nakagandi near excise barrier Baddi and intercepted a truck No HP 12-3617, coming from Madawala side on the Nalagarh-Pinjore road. ASI Ranjit Singh during the search of truck recovered the liquor which was being carried in 85 boxes without any documents.

Mishra said that arrested persons were Mohender Singh, driver of the truck, a resident of Nanakpura village of Panchkula district and Tarsem Singh, cleaner, resident of Jawali area of Kangra district.

He said that liquor was being smuggled from Chandigarh to Baddi and SAI area of Barotiwala police station. The truck has also been impounded and a case has been registered under Excise Act.
