CHANDIGARH, Feb 11: The silver jubilee celebrations of Guru Gobind Singh College for Women continued for the second day at Tagore Theatre here today.While addressing the gathering, Punjab Governor Lt. General (Retd.) B.K.N. Chhibber said that the education should be such so that it could counteract the influence of ``alien cultural influences'' which are trying to distort atmosphere.
The cultural programme went on with Jasleen Dhailwal compering the programme. A play, Zafarnama enacted by the students depicted the mental imbalance and psychological agony of Aurangzeb after he received Zafarnama from Guru Gobind Singh.
The results of the various inter-college contests held during the day in order of merit are as follows:
Poetical symposium: Sunaina Khera, MCM; Shyam Pale, GGDD College; Bharti, Government College of Education, Sector 20; Over all trophy went to MCM.
Declamation Contest: Harleen Sachdeva, Dev Smaj College for Women; Mansi Gupta and Padmini from MCM and GCG, Sector 11 respectively, Dipti Sodhi from MCM and Vasundhra of GCG, Sector 11.
Fresh Flower arrangement: Seema Chawla, GGS College for Women; Anjali, Home Science College; Pooja Khosla, Government College for Education, Sector 20; Anjana, GCG, Sector 42.
Folliage Arrangement: Atashi Grover, Dev Samaj College, Sector 36; Prabhjot Kaur, Dev Samaj College, Sector 36; Rubal, GCG, Sector 42; Seema Chawla, Guru Gobind Singh College.
