Bride pushed to death, in-laws suspected

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
NEW DELHI, February 12: A 23-year-woman, Ana-mika, married two months ago, was allegedly pushed down from the terrace of her house by her-in-laws in Geeta Colony last night. The police have arrested her husband and brother-in-law.

While Anamika's in-laws claim she slipped from the stairs leading to her second-floor bedroom, her parents allege she was pushed down from the terrace. They also say Anamika was being harassed for dowry by her in-laws ever since she got married.

Neighbours around Anamika's in-laws' house in 1, Old Geeta Colony, claim they saw blood stains on the road adjacent to the house immediately after the incident. They also claim they saw Anamika's mother-in-law pouring buckets of water to remove the stains.

According to the Anamika's sister Hema, who lives in Paschim Vihar, 28-year-old Kiran Malhotra -- Anamika's husband, who runs a radio spare-parts business -- called her up around 1 a.m. last night. He reportedly said Anamika had slipped from the stairs and had been taken to Lok Nayak Hospital.
