Pool Challenge Tournament

Pool is the latest craze to storm Mumbai City. To connect with it's consumers, who are crazy about pool, Coca-Cola India has tied up with nearly 105 pool outlets in the city, to conduct Mumbai's first Pool Challenge Tournament called Coca-Cola Pool Takkar. The tournaments will be held at all participating venues, spread over three weekends in the month, starting second week of February.

Three-time former Amateur billiards champion Michael Ferreira will judge the final.

Tolani to be felicitated

The leading patron of bridge in the country, and perhaps in the world, Dr NP Tolani, turns 75 on Sunday. Six bridge associations -- The Bridge Federation of India, Maharashtra Bridge Association, Mumbai Sports & Bridge Association, Bombay Contract Bridge Association, Thane District Bridge Association and the All-India Ladies Bridge Association -- have come together to felicitatehim at a special function on Saturday.

Dr Tolani, a philanthropist with heavy investments in education and health care, has sponsored the National masters and an international grand prix bridge tournament for the past few years. Last month, he had funded the country's largest ever bridge tournaments, the Tolani International Grand Prix and the World Invitation Pairs, each carrying a prize money of Rs 12 lakh.

Mansi earns black belt

Mansi Hitesh Gutka, a student of J B Vachha High School, earned the junior black belt at the age of 12 at the 44th camp of the All-India Gojukai Karate-Do (IKGA) held at Sardar Dastor School, Pune.

Mansi started her karate training at the age of 7. At the age of 9, she took part in the karate tournaments at Malaysia and Thailand. At present, she achieved a gold medal in a tourney held at the Mumbai's University Stadium.
