BJP rules out change of guard at Centre

UNITED NEWS OF INDIA
HYDERABAD, Feb 21: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) general secretary M Venkaiah Naidu has ruled out the possibility of any change in the leadership of Prime Minister A B Vajpayee and denied reports that there was a tussle between the hardliners and moderates in the party.

His clarification comes in the wake of J Jayalalitha's assertion on Saturday that her party, a principal ally of the BJP-led coalition government at the Centre, would oppose any change in the leadership of Vajpayee. Naidu asserted that there was unity in the party. The BJP had fought the last poll by projecting Vajpayee as its prime ministerial candidate.
