Chinese plane explodes with 64 on board

PRESS TRUST OF INDIA  
Beijing, Feb24: All the 64 people on board a Chinese airliner were killed today when the plane exploded in mid-air minutes before landing at Wenzhou airport in east China, airport officials said.

The aeroplane SZ 4509 of China South-West Airlines took off on its fateful flight from from Chengdu in south-western province of Sichuan to eastern part city of Wenzhou before it exploded 24 kms southwest of its destination.

Mangled bodies of all 51 passengers and 13 crew members lay scattered over a wide area in Gexia, officials said.The airport officials said contact was lost with the Pilot of the plane seconds before the explosion took place.
