AIR, DD staff launch 2-day agitation

UNITED NEWS OF INDIA

MUMBAI, February 24: The Group `D' staff of All India Radio (AIR) and Doordarshan (DD) in Mumbai launched a 48-hour this morning demanding pay parity with that of helpers and increase in pay scales. The nationwide strike call was given by the All India Akashwani and Doordarshan Group `D' Staff Association. According to an association spokesperson, the strike was near total today with most of the aggrieved employees joining theagitation.
