B.Pharm students hold dharna

CHANDIGARH, Feb 24: Undergraduates of the University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS) today held a dharna outside the office of the Panjab University Vice-Chancellor demanding that 80 per cent seats in the M.Pharm course be declared as promotional seats for the PU B.Pharm graduates, among other things. The students who began their strike yesterday at the UIPS today moved to outside the V-C's office. The departmental representatives, Mittun Jai Kaushal and Gurbir Singh, also resigned from their posts in protest.The other demands include scrapping of the pre-requisite of 60 per cent marks in the degree for the M.Pharm course, declaration of exam results within 30 days and construction of a parking lot.
