Eight city students excel in international contest

CHANDIGARH, Feb 24: Eight students of St. Kabir Public School, Sector 26 have scored National Percentile Rank ranging between 91 and 99 in the international competition conducted in November 1998 by the University of New South Wales.

Those who achieved the percentile in Mathematics include Ravneet Singh, Ishan Aggarwal, Aditya Singh, Tapees Kohli, Akhil Bhalla and Rajneesh Goyal while Aditya V Sharda achieved the percentile in Science and Dharna in English.

Workshop on eco awareness held
One-day workshop under the National Environment Awareness Campaign was organised by YWCA at Janta Model Senior Secondary School, Naya Gaon, here today. Water resources, the way they get polluted and methods to clean the same were discussed in detail by Prof S.P. Mittal and Dr Y. Agnihotri - scientists from Central Soil and Water Conservation Research Centre. A quiz and painting competition was also held.
