Minor girl kidnapped
Sector 16 resident Sharmila reported to the police that her minor daughter has been kidnapped by some unidentified persons. The police have registered a case.

Absconding accused arrested
The city police have arrested an absconding accused Rajiv Gupta, a resident of New Delhi. He was wanted in a case of cheating and fraud by the Economic Offences Wing of the police.

Man cheated of two buffaloes
Kumhar Colony resident Gulshan Lal has reported to the police that he has been cheated by Patiala resident Haryana Ram. He alleged that Haryana Ram has stolen two of his buffaloes which he gave to him for looking after them. The police have registered a case.

Engineering student attempts suicide
An engineering student, Umesh Bajaj of Sector 22, was admitted to the PGI after he reportedly consumed poisonous substance at his residence. No cause is known as yet, said police sources.

Passengers indulge in rioting
On the complaint lodged by Ujagar Singh, driver of a Pepsu Roadways Transpor Corportation bus, the police today registered a case for rioting againt the passengers. The case has been registered under Section 147,149, 332, 427 and 353 of the IPC. The argument began when the driver stopped the bus near the slush and the passengers objected to it, said sources.

15 lead bricks stolen
Subhash Chand has lodged a complaint with the police that 15 lead bricks, weighing 312 kg, have been stolen from his unit in Ram Darbar. Acting on his complaint, the police arrested Vishwa Mittal Pandey and also recovered some bricks from his possession.

Dowry case
An S.A.S. Nagar resident Charanjit Kaur has complained to the police that she was harassed for more dowry by Jaspal Singh Wadhwa, Satwant Kaur Wadhwa and Narinder Kuma, all of whom are residents of Midland (United Kingdom). A case has been registered.

Theft in Sec 8
Surinder Kaur Attwal of Sector 8 has alleged that a resident of the same house trespassed into her house and stole gold ornaments, some cash and household articles. A case has been registered.

Cheating case
Sector 20 resident Gurparshad Mittal reported to the police that he was cheated to the tune of Rs 7.64 lakh by Patras Masih of Sector 43 in the sale/purchase of a house. The police have registred a case under Section 406, 420 and 506 of IPC.
