4I-T searches conducted on Pipavav Port

MUMBAI, Feb 25: The Investigation Wing of the Income-Tax Department, Mumbai, conducted searches on 13 premises and surveys on seven other premises of a private port, Gujarat Pipavav Port Limited, on Tuesday and Wednesday. This port has also been negotiating for some privatisation projects in Maharashtra. The premises brought under survey are in Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Rajkot, besides Mumbai.A large number of documents were brought under the IT searchlight, a source said. All the 13 premises raided are in Mumbai. The group's head office is located in Pipavav, but it has numerous other businesses which are based in Mumbai.
