NSUI, HSA students barge into V-C's office

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
CHANDIGARH, Feb 25: A total of 100 odd students of National Students Union of India and Haryana Student's Association (HSA) reportedly forced their entry into the Vice-Chancellor's office when the memorandum they had come to submit was not taken by the VC's office.

The students of NSUI and the HSA went to the VC's office to submit their memorandum which include various demands including rationalisation of re-appear exam fee structure - Rs 50 per paper, 80 per cent reservation for internal candidates in M. Pharm, computerisation of employment exchange, postponement of undergraduate class exams from April 1 to April 16 due to non-completion of syllabi and a photostat facility in Department of Law. Since the VC was not present the students were pacified by the Dean University Instructions I. B. Passy who assured the agitating students that their demands would be accepted soon.

Prior to this the HSA, today, held its general body meeting in which all the speakers expressed resentment towards the decision on abolition the reserved seats of Haryana from Senate PU. Later on led by H. S. Lucky president NSUI and Bhupinder Singh President, HSA, the students marched to the VC's office raising slogans against the authorities.
