Scooterist killed

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE  
CHANDIGARH, Feb 26: A Panckhula resident Amrit Pal Singh was killed after his scooter was reportedly hit by an unidentified Esteem car last night.

According to police sources, the accident occurred around 10.30 p.m. yesterday near the Railway Light Point. Friends of the injured who were going on another scooter, took him to the Sector 16 General Hospital where he was declared "brought dead". The car driver fled the spot. A case has been registered.

The scooterist was coming to Chandigarh from Panchkula. The police have registered a case for causing death by rash driving under Sections 279 and 304-A of the Indian Penal Code. Police added that they are investigating the matter.
